The Scenery of Pico Bonito

Pico Bonito photograph
from the official Lodge web site.

We didn't see much of Pico Bonito (Beautiful Peak) while we were at The Lodge at Pico Bonito. It was the rainy season, and we mostly saw clouds. They were beautiful clouds, though, so we took photos of them and of the occasional scenic view or mountain top.

The clouds roll in over the mountain ridge behind the swimming pool and a tree bursts into yellow bloom to provide a nice contrast to the gray.

The mountain behind or beside Pico Bonito, depending on who you ask.
(Possibly also depending on where you are.)

"One misty, moisty morning, when cloudy was the weather..."
Beautiful layers of clouds among the layers of trees.

We took a hike to the river where our guide caught a tiny, striped lizard (above, left)
and we enjoyed the rapids (above, right and below, left) and mist (below, right).

Later, Steve took a hike farther up the mountain where he got some distant views of
the ocean (above) and coastline (below).
